In future elections, be it for our representative in national government, county, borough, district or parish council, how would it be if we thought less of the candidate's political leaning and more of the person?

We would then make our mark for someone we honour as a person of integrity, honesty and commitment to the electorate.

It was with such persons that I myself was privileged to serve years ago when a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ was regarded almost as being more binding than a legal one.
