Man dies on East Preston beach

Sussex Police said that shortly after 5pm yesterday (August 10), police were notified of a medical incident on the beach near South Strand.

Paramedics were called to reports that a man had collapsed, and the air ambulance also attended the scene.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the man was pronounced dead at the scene."

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 80-year-old man's death, and his next of kin and the coroner's office have been informed, police said.
